The man who built DigiCore - Nick Vlok, CEO Minimize

Nick Vlok is a man who has great passion for many things, his enthusiasm for business saw him grow a small company started with just R2,000 in capital in 1985 into the multinational listed fleet management and vehicle tracking empire it is today.

Vlok is fully committed to ensuring that the business continues its spiral upwards with increased investment in research and development, and a focus on international expansion, being a testament to his forward thinking.

DigiCore has sold more than 460,000 systems to clients around the world. A number Vlok is extremely proud of.

Not a man to keep the credit of the success of DigiCore to himself, he insists that the company is where it is today because of the team behind it, which includes some of the best brains in the business.

Vlok places high value on ethics in business, this commitment to transparency and sound corporate governance won DigiCore recognition from the IAS (The Investment Analysts Society of South Africa), which gave the group an award for excellence in reporting in 2010.

As a business leader, Vlok believes deeply in the importance of balancing the profit motive against treating customers and employees fairly. He is adamant that customers should never be overcharged, seeing it as both immoral and bad for business. He believes that treating employees well is equally important for a business built on its own intellectual capital.

Vlok is still deeply involved in the business at an operational level, and has a full understanding of the technology and customer requirements in his industry, a  tribute to his having moved up through the ranks of the industry. He believes in hands-on leadership.

Vlok’s other deep passion is his love for nature and the African bush and he can be found unwinding on his game farm, when duty allows. He holds a B.Comm from RAU.
